biography
Radosława Lascar is a Polish-Romanian freelance cellist and competitive chess player, currently based in Antwerp, Belgium. Her artistic journey is deeply rooted in both music and chess, blending performance with education and innovation.
As a soloist, she has performed Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto in A Minor with the Symphony Orchestra of the Karol Szymanowski Music School and Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos with the Sudeten Philharmonic in Wałbrzych, Poland. She has collaborated with various ensembles and orchestras across Europe, including Frascati Symphonic, Virago Symphonic and Casco Phil in Belgium, as well as the Baltic Sea Philharmonic and Santander Orchestra. She has also participated in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Steven Isserlis, Wen-Sinn Yang, and Claudio Bohórquez.
Currently, she is a cellist with Beyond Tradition, an ensemble that fuses classical music with folk and contemporary influences, exploring new ways to connect with audiences. While her passion lies in chamber music and orchestral performance, she is also interested in music management, aiming to contribute to the cultural sector beyond the stage. Alongside her artistic career, she is currently pursuing studies in Engineering Management at the Gdańsk University of Technology, striving to merge her musical background with leadership in the cultural sector.
Her musical education includes a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where she studied under prof. Olsi Leka. Previously, she completed her Bachelor’s studies at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Poland, under prof. Lidia Grzanka-Urbaniak.
Beyond music, she is an active chess competitor and instructor. In 2023, she defended her title as Belgium’s Academic Women’s Chess Champion. She teaches chess both online and in-person privately and at schools in Antwerp, combining strategic thinking with interactive learning.
